Richard TROTT/TREAT (1584 - 1669) He arrived in New England prior to 1637. He was the first to spell the name "Treat". He settled first in Wethersfield, Connecticut, and was one of the four pioneers that were honored with the titles of "Mr." In March, 1637 he was a member of the lower house of the General Court. He was a member of Governor Winthrop's Council from 17 December 1663 to 1 July 1664. The family ranked high in the society and business community of the Colony.
