The full title of the book tells the whole story of it's contents: "A Catalogue of the Names of the First Puritan Settlers of the Colony of Connecticut; with the Time of Their Arrival in the Colony, and their Standing in Society, Together with their Places of Residence, as far as can be discovered by their records". The original record book, published in 1846, was comprised of 336 pages. This volume reduces the size of the text and presents 2 original pages on each of the present volume's 169 pages.
A book with the same title and with additional material was published between 1852 and 1856 with 884 pages.
