Johann Daniel JACOB (21 January 1823 - 30 May 1878) He arrived at New York on 26 October 1868 aboard the ship "Gutenburg" along with his wife and six children. The ship had sailed from the port of Hamburg about three weeks prior. Travelling with him was his brother- in-law, L. V. Klingsporn, age 28, and his wife, Charlotte, age 29. After passing through Ellis Island entry center, they travelled to Dodge County, Wisconsin where they settled in the town of Reeseville. He was a farmer and she was a housewife and homemaker.
