William HERRIN  (c.1750 - c.1820)

The believed progenitor of this line. It is thought he came from England,
settled in Georgia and was a factory owner. He may have been born in either
England or Scotland. A Herron family was counted in the 1790 census in
Pendleton Dist., SC and in the same region in 1800 the name was spelled 
Hern. A William Herrin (Heron)(Herring) lived in Habersham Co., Ga and was 
enumerated there 1820 and 1827. Another William Herrin appears on the 1794 
Tax List for Warren County, Georgia in Capt. Gray's District.
