William GOODWIN  (1595 - 11 March 1672/3)

He sailed from London aboard the ship "Lyon" on 22 June 1632, and arrived 
at Boston on 16 September. He settled first in Cambridge and was made 
freeman on 6 November 1632. He was Deputy to the General Court from 
Cambridge in May, 1634. He was an early settler of Hartford, Conn. where 
he was a man of great influence, both in civic and religious affairs. He 
removed to Hadley, Mass. upon the founding of that settlement, but returned
to Connecticut about ten years later, and settled in Farmington. He left 
a large estate to his only child, his daughter Elizabeth.
