The name is variously spelled as GAR, GAAR, GARR, GAUR, and GARE.  

John GAR, was born and died in Germany, but this book is more about his son, Andreas GAAR, who arrived in the New World in 1732 at age 47. Originally living in Pennsylvania and later migrating  to the Germanna Colony in Virginia, where he died in Orange County in 1747. He and his wife, Eva, raised 12 children, five of whom survived to adulthood.   

Other families included in this book are Wilhoit, Fisher, Yager, Smith, Souther, Carpenter, Blankenbaker, Crigler, Chrystler and Finks.

The actual print copy of this book has been in a library since its publishment in 1894, and the the pages have yellowed with age, but all the text is easily viewable.
