Thomas GAINES  (c.1590 - bef.1699)

Arrived at Virginia Colony from England in about 1620. In 1664 he witnessed
a deed of sale between Robert and Richard Gorsuch and Ralph Horton of 
Lancaster County, Virginia. A document in the records of Richmond Co., Va 
reads: (abstracted) "p.4-A. Attachm't issued to Charles - - [faded out] - -
Estate of Tho: Gaines for Eight hundred pounds of Tobacco by bill. 
Returned Executed the 9th of 9'ber 1699 in these words Then attached two 
parcells of Tobacco hanging in two severall houses, One Levey Sixty Seven 
and a halfe being 1st paid for the use of the within menconed   Test  Leroy
George   Sub Sh".
