Instructions for Searching the FamilyFinder Index

Before you submit a search request, you need to know if your subject name actually appears in the records on any of the disks in our collection, and what the numbers of those disks are.

So, make your first request a search of the "FTM FFI".

On the next screen you will see our "Request for CD-ROM Search  Form".

In the box that requires a CD-ROM disk number, type "FTM FFI". Then fill out the remainder of the form with the name of the individual and as much information as you already know.

We will search the FamilyFinder Index and return a list of the disk numbers on which your subject name appears in the records. Then you may request searches of each of those disks. This will save us the time of making fruitless searches of randomly selected disks.
