The first recorded entry of the Axtell name occurs in the records of a monastery in Gatesden, Hertfordshire, England, dated 1535. The original immigrant to New England is a Thomas Axtell, who died in Sudbury, Mass., in 1646. Thomas' descendants are listed for five generations in this booklet.
